Lockwood Hunting Services (LHS) does not guarantee any of its hunts, although a 100% effort will be made to ensure that your hunt is successful. Weather conditions may greatly affect the outcome of your hunt. These conditions, you must realize, are beyond our control.
LHS guides have the experience and knowledge to help provide you with information and decisions on obtaining the size trophy that you desire, but you as the shooter are ultimately responsible for making the decision on the animal that you shoot. If an animal is injured it will be counted as your kill.
All bookings and deposits are non-refundable. A 50% deposit must be made to officially book any hunt. Final payment must be received at least 30 days prior to the date of your hunt. A $100 fee will be charged per client on all late final payments made under 30 days in advance. Deposits can not be applied towards another hunter or hunt. All payments must be made payable to Lockwood Hunting Services. Your booked hunting days must be consecutive for each hunt. A $50 fee will be charged to the client for each returned check. LHS reserves the right to deny anyone service.
If you are unable to make a hunt that you have booked, the deposit may be moved to a different hunt date or time frame at LHS discretion. No refunds and/or alternative hunt dates for early departure.
Follow the guides rules at all times. Do not chamber any round or fire your weapon until the guide instructs you to do so. If you are behaving in a dangerous manner the hunt will stopped immediately with no refund.
It is your responsibility to have your weapon sighted in before arrival. The guide may ask you to place a few well placed rounds at a target to ensure your accuracy. It is also your responsibility to have all of your proper hunting gear including a game bag and/or cooler(s) to put your game and trophy cape into. It is your responsibility to take your game to the butcher and taxidermist unless the “Fully Outfitted” hunt is booked. It is also your responsibility to have your method of transportation, meals and lodging taken care of in advance unless the “Fully Outfitted” hunt is booked.
Killing off game is prohibited. Coyotes are the only exception. If you kill any animal other than coyotes and/or the animal that we are hunting then the hunt will be stopped immediately with no refund.
No killing “wet” sow pigs. If a “wet” sow pig is killed a $100 fee will be added to the hunt. A “wet” sow is a pig that is about to have piglets or is already nursing piglets.
Once the hunted animal is killed then your hunt is concluded. If you would like to continue hunting there is an additional day fee that starts from when field dressing and skinning is complete and ends 24 hours later. Hunting will resume as soon as the killed animal is field dressed and skinned. This also applies to injured animals even if they are not retrieved. If you would like to hunt more than two days in the field then additional days can be booked prior to the hunt. If you are hunting with a party but your hunt has been completed and other party members have not finished their hunt then you can either stay at camp or stay in the field with the hunters. If you decide to stay in the field you can not have any firearm on you. Non-hunting guests can not have any firearms. Shooting game for other party members is not permitted. Deer are limited to one per hunter. If a second deer is killed or injured then there is a $2500 fee that will be charged to the hunter. If a second pig is killed or injured that will count as an additional day fee ranging $300-$400 depending on which hunt package is booked.
Arrival time can not be any earlier than two hours before legal hunting time the morning of your first booked hunting day and the departure time will be as soon as legal hunting time has ended on the last evening of your booked hunting day unless your animal is taken before the full length of your booked hunting days are complete. If that is the case then departure time will be as soon as the animal is field dressed and skinned.
Smoking is restricted on the ranches. If under the influence of alcohol or drugs the hunt will be stopped immediately with no refund.
Camping is permitted on the ranch but camp fires are prohibited. If you do decide to camp you must clean up after yourself before departure. You must also have your camp cleaned up and ready for departure before dark on your last booked hunting day.
